Flour and Feast - Brand Film

Flour & Feast approached us to create a cinematic brand film capturing the craft, character and community behind their independent bakery in Hull’s Fruit Market.

The aim was to create something warm, authentic and visually rich, showing the care behind their artisan baking while giving audiences a real sense of the people and personality behind the business.

The Challenge

Flour & Feast had a strong product, a loyal local following and a clear sense of identity, but the challenge was to translate that into a film that could communicate the full customer experience.

A bakery is not just about the final product. It is about the early starts, the ingredients, the process, the atmosphere and the people who return because they feel connected to the place. The film needed to capture all of those layers without feeling staged or overly polished.

The creative challenge was to strike the right balance between a commercial brand film and a genuine portrait of an independent Hull business. It had to look beautiful, but it also had to feel real.

The Approach

We shaped the film around the rhythm of the bakery, using a mix of staged, candid and interview-led content to build a more complete picture of Flour & Feast.

Production took place over three days, giving us time to capture the details that make the bakery distinctive: the craft of the baking process, the movement of the team, the atmosphere inside the space and the relationship between the bakery and its customers.

Visually, we wanted the film to feel warm, tactile and cinematic. Shooting on RED Komodo with vintage-style Iron Glass Soviet rehoused lenses allowed us to create an image that felt textured and characterful, rather than clean and generic. This suited the handmade, artisan nature of the brand.

We handled the full production process, from creative development through to filming, editing, colour grade and final delivery. The result was a brand film that combined the precision of a commercial production with the intimacy of a local story.

The Result

The final film gave Flour & Feast a strong brand asset that captured both the quality of their product and the personality of the business.

Rather than simply showing bread and baked goods, the film communicated the full Flour & Feast experience: the craft, the people, the setting and the sense of community around the bakery.

For a small independent business, this kind of brand film helps build credibility, deepen customer connection and give audiences a clearer reason to care. It positions Flour & Feast not just as a bakery, but as a distinctive part of Hull’s independent food and drink scene.

The project also reflects how cinematic storytelling can be used effectively for smaller, independent brands, giving them the same level of care, craft and visual quality often associated with larger commercial campaigns.
